Can you believe this? Yeah, you heard me right, a miracle. At a time when I was still so young I was sometimes doubtful about miracles, although we were raise by our parents as a devoted Roman Catholic. We even pray the holy rosary as often as possible during our younger years.
But this time it was for real in my point of view. Let me tell you this how it happens to us. In November 2009 my contract ends as a contract worker in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Before I decided not to renew my contract, though my employer ask me to stay and offer me a 25% salary increase. I turn down his offer because that was not what I want. What was in my mind was if my employer doubles my salary I will take his offer. Unfortunately it did not happen. I also did not demand for it because I wanted him to offer me that much but for him it was too big since the global recession in 2009 was affecting the business. So to say, I turn down his offer but I did not close my door in case I change my mind. That time I have no offers from other company, which I tried to apply all architectural and engineering consultant I know in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Again, due to the global recession in 2009 most of the companies are not hiring new staff; they just told me that they will just call me if ever they have a hiring for my position. So basically I have no where to go but home. My colleagues’ advices me to accept the offer of my employer since the economy is bad and I might not be able to receive any offer better than the offer of my employer. Even my friends advice me too but still my mind and my heart is not satisfied for it. I said to myself there’s nothing impossible with God, He will provide. I have faith in God. So I hold on to my faith, that’s all I have that very moment.
When I arrived home in the Philippines I did not waste my time and look for job opening abroad through internet and newspaper ads. The day turn weeks, then weeks turn months but still I receive no offer. Every week I went to a manpower agency that advertises job opening for architect abroad and I even visited websites for manpower agency that hires architect abroad and received a lot of phone calls for interview.
One morning in the first week of February 2010, I remember one Consulting company in Saudi Arabia that offered me last 2008 for a job through the help of my friend who work there which I turn down that time because I still have a contract on my previous employer. I then checked my email and look for the email address of that company and sent an email hoping for a job opening for my position. On one afternoon of February 9, 2010 while I was being interviewed for final selection for Bahrain job opening my wife texted me that I need to come home early for Mama Mary will come to our house because it was our turn to receive Mama Mary as part of the Black Rosary Movement in our subdivision. So I went home right after my interview. When I arrive home at 5:00 o’clock in the afternoon a few minutes after Mama Mary is brought to our house then we pray the Holy Rosary which I lead it because it is the responsibility of the host to lead and after the prayer we had a little chat with the leaders of the Black Rosary Movement. They were amazed by me because it was a rare occasion that a male host is leading the Rosary, though I had no choice because my wife was still in her office that time. It was not really a big deal for me because I am already used to pray the Holy Rosary since we were young. Then after the chatting and snacks they left the house. I then go to an internet cafe’ to check my email which I usually do every night and Kabooooom! When I open my email I received a response from the company that offer me before in Saudi Arabia and says that they are looking for Design Architect and if I am interested with their offer they will accept me right away and process all the visa and documents needed. But the problem is their offer did not match with what I want. I then reply to their email demanding for a salary package that I want but before I press the send button I close my eyes make the sign of the cross and pray with all my heart that God will touch the heart of my new employer to accept my demands. After a couple of days they call me up and ask for more documents and credentials in order to evaluate my demands. Again I waited for another couples of days for their decision. Then on February 16, 2010 the day Mama Mary will leave our home to go to the next house. I checked my email and Kaboooom! Again I received an email from my new employer saying that they accepted my demands and I need to sign the offer letter attach to the email and sent it back to them. They also give me instruction to go to their agency that will process all the documents needed. I did not waste my time and followed their instruction and finally I was scheduled to fly to Saudi Arabia on March 14, 2010. After that Miraculous day that Mama Mary did to us we start again to pray the Holy Rosary everyday with my family and we will continue praying until the day God will send us home to heaven.
Oh, by the way, on this month we also celebrated the second birthday of our beautiful, talented, intelligent and loving daughter Czerah. We are so bless and thankful to God for all the blessings that God gave us and to all the blessings that is coming to us in our way to His universe of abundance. I was also grateful and thankful to God for the Miracle He made to us. From then on my belief change that miracles happens everyday in our life. All we need is Ask, Faith in Him and Declare.
